Cannot send emails

Start by noting what happens when you send: does the app show a connection error, leave the message in the Outbox, or return a delivery-failure message? These symptoms need different checks.

1. Compare Webmail and your email app

Use the secure Webmail guide and try a short message to an address you control. If Webmail sends but the app fails, compare the app’s account and connection settings. If both fail, check the account status and delivery error before changing the app.

2. Check outgoing authentication and encryption

In cPanel, open Email Accounts > Manage > Connect Devices. Copy the outgoing hostname, security method and port for that mailbox. The full email address is the username and SMTP authentication must be enabled. Our verified sample uses SMTP port 465 with SSL/TLS; your own cPanel values take precedence. See the email server settings guide.

A certificate warning requires investigation of the hostname and certificate. Do not disable encryption or ignore the warning.

3. Check the mailbox and hosting account

Email Accounts shows storage and restrictions. The Manage screen separates receiving, sending and login permissions; outgoing mail can be allowed, suspended or held. Ask support why a restriction exists before changing it. A mailbox setting does not give you permission to unsuspend a hosting account.

4. Inspect the delivery result

Open Track Delivery in cPanel. Enter the recipient address and select Run Report; Show Blocked & Failed narrows the results. Match the sender and time, then read Result and the available details. An Accepted result is not proof that the recipient read the message or that it reached their Inbox rather than Junk.

5. Escalate with useful evidence

Supply the sending time and timezone, sender, recipient domain, exact app error or relevant delivery-failure text. Mention recent DNS or password changes. Keep security software enabled; ask your IT administrator to investigate a suspected network block. Do not assume every new-domain problem resolves within a fixed 24-hour period.
