What is a TLD?
TLD is short for Top Level Domain.
A top-level domain is one of the domains at the highest level in the hierarchical Domain Name System of the Internet. The top-level domain names are installed in the root zone of the name space for example :

- .durban
and many many more ….
The TLD I want is not listed, what now?

Is my website backed up?
We do run automated backups once a week. Should you require more frequent backups, you can sign up HERE
We suggest you do however back up yourself as well and you can learn how to do this by logging into your Cient Area and going to Knowledge Base or clicking on Self Help on the main menu.
What is a control panel?
This is where you manage you hosting from and do things like set up email accounts and various other things that your website designer might need.

What is web hosting?
Web hosting is the combination of hardware and software that store website files so it can be viewed online 24/7. Shared web hosting allows you to keep your website online without paying the high cost of a server and a permanent internet connection. When someone browses to your website, what they see on their screen is being served from your web host’s server.
What if I want to upgrade my hosting package?
You simply log into your client area HERE
Select “My Services” and then your hosting package and then click on Upgrade.
Why do I need web hosting?
If you want a website, you need web hosting. Every website you see online uses web hosting. If you sign up with 1-grid as your hosting company, we will offer the infrastructure to keep your website running at all times.

WordPress is the most popular platform around and we have a 1 Click installer built into your hosting control panel.
How long does it take to set up my account?
Once you have made payment, the setup is almost immediate. It does however take an hour or two for the domain the promulgate on all the servers accross the world.
Can I set up my own email accounts?
Yes, you can do this in yoru hosting control panel.
