How to create an email account

Create a mailbox in cPanel for a domain on your hosting account. You will need access to cPanel and available mailbox capacity on your package.

Create the mailbox

  1. Sign in to cPanel using your secure hosting login.
  2. Open Email Accounts and select Create.
  3. Select the correct Domain. Enter the part before the @ sign in Username.
  4. Set a strong, unique mailbox password and keep it in a password manager. This is the mailbox password, separate from your client-portal login.
  5. Open Edit Settings under Optional Settings to review Storage Space. Choose an allocation within your hosting allowance. An Unlimited option does not remove the hosting account’s overall disk limit.
  6. Review the plus-addressing and welcome-email options. Select Create once the details are correct.

Confirm and connect

Check that the new address appears in Email Accounts. Open its Manage screen, then Connect Devices for your app settings or Check Email for Webmail. Follow the email server settings guide, then test sending and receiving with an address you control.

If creation fails

Check the selected domain, username, password validation and available account capacity. Record the exact error before contacting support. Do not create repeated duplicate mailboxes to work around an unresolved error.

Need assistance? Contact Rhino Hosting Support. Include the relevant error and application version, but never send your password.
